What are the benefits of living in a Ladera 55+ master-planned community

Small and intimate
Ladera Living communities feature only 150 – 275 homes per community, rather than 500 or 800 or more like you might see in other active adult communities. The size and central amenities naturally create a sense of community, and our close-knit neighbors tend to look out for each other.

YES! While our lifestyle is centered around those 55+, you don’t have to worry about not being able to have your grandchildren visit you any time. However, longer stays for vacations may be limited to two weeks or up to two to three months for children under 18.

What is the size of a Ladera Living 55+ Community?

Ladera active adult communities are designed to be smaller and more close-knit to encourage friendships and connections. For this reason, we typically limit the number of homes in neighborhoods to 300 or smaller – NOT 800+ homes like many 55+ active adult communities. This intimate size allows for a better sense of community where everyone knows everyone.

Can I rent my home in a Ladera Living 55+ Community?

55+ communities are designed around the idea of building community among neighbors and some rental scenarios go against that vision. If it is allowed, rules typically require that it must be a long-term rental to 55+ renters. All short-term rentals such as Airbnb and Vrbo-style rentals are strictly prohibited in all Ladera Living communities to protect our homeowners’ privacy and home investment.

What does a "lock-and-leave" lifestyle mean?

A ‘lock-and-leave’ lifestyle means homeowners can travel for extended periods without worrying about lawn and landscaping maintenance. Plus, Ladera communities are gated for added safety and security. Therefore, if you are an avid traveler or frequently visit family and friends out of town, you can rest assured that your home is well cared for.
