There are moments in every new community that matter more than others—the ones that mark a true beginning. At Ladera Wylie, we recently experienced one of those moments as we celebrated our very first Founding Homeowners.
Eight homeowners officially wrote contracts to build the first homes in our newest 55+ active adult community, and we gathered to celebrate in a way that felt just as special as the milestone itself.
From the start, the day was filled with excitement, connection, and a shared sense of what’s to come.
A Celebration Worth Savoring
Our Founders were welcomed with a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, starting with a delicious lunch from Cowboy Chicken. To make the day even sweeter, we enjoyed treats from local favorite Baked Right In—because every great celebration deserves a little indulgence.
As part of their welcome, each homeowner selected a bottle of wine from Landon Winery in historic downtown Wylie. It was a simple but meaningful way to toast not only their new homes, but the journey they’re beginning together.
Making It Official
One of the most memorable parts of the day came as each Founding Homeowner placed their very first SOLD sticker on the community plat board. It was a moment that made everything feel real—turning plans and possibilities into something tangible.
But we didn’t stop there.
Together, we visited the homesites where these homes will soon take shape. Standing on their future lots, each homeowner placed a SOLD sticker on their individual homesite sign—marking the exact place where their new chapter will unfold.
It was a powerful, full-circle experience. From choosing a homesite to physically claiming it, each step brought the vision of Ladera Wylie to life.
More Than a Milestone
While the contracts and homesites are exciting, what stood out most was something even more meaningful—the connections being formed.
This gathering marked the first time these future neighbors came together. Conversations flowed easily, laughter was shared, and the foundation of a true community began to take shape. It’s clear that Ladera Wylie will be more than just a place to live—it will be a place where neighbors become friends.
